{"id":32853,"date":"2025-11-11T14:53:29","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T13:53:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/imefy.com\/?p=32853"},"modified":"2025-11-11T15:02:48","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T14:02:48","slug":"new-proton-therapy-center-in-the-valencian-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/imefy.com\/en\/new-proton-therapy-center-in-the-valencian-community\/","title":{"rendered":"IMEFY participates in the new Proton Therapy Center in the Valencian Community"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>IMEFY has supplied three 1,000 kVA \u2013 20 kV \/ 420 V e<strong>poxy resin-encapsulated transformers,<\/strong> through the company Cobra, for the <strong>new Proton Therapy Center<\/strong> of the Valencian Community, located next to the La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital in Valencia.<\/p>\n<p>This equipment is part of a project promoted by the Regional Ministry of Health, which has awarded the contract for the work at a cost of \u20ac21.5 million, and will receive a donation from the <strong>Amancio Ortega Foundation<\/strong>, which is allocating a further \u20ac25 million for the provision of proton therapy equipment.<\/p>\n<h3>A breakthrough in cancer treatment<\/h3>\n<p>Proton therapy is one of the most advanced techniques in cancer treatment. It is a highly precise form of <strong>external radiation therapy<\/strong> that concentrates the dose on the tumor and minimizes radiation exposure to healthy tissue.<\/p>\n<p>It is particularly suitable for <strong>pediatric patients and for treating tumors<\/strong> that are difficult to access, such as brain, head and neck, spinal cord, lung, eye, or sarcoma tumors.<\/p>\n<h3>Commitment to healthcare innovation<\/h3>\n<p>The construction of the center, which will occupy <strong>5,500 m\u00b2, includes a reinforced concrete bunker with walls 2.5 meters<\/strong> thick to ensure maximum safety and radiation containment.
