After months of hard work, IMEFY has launched the R&D&I project entitled “Investment in the production process of low voltage winding of OIT transformers” with the acronym BOBINADOIT at its facilities in Los Yébenes, Toledo.

In this research project, the objective is to increase production capacity through the implementation of innovative machinery in the manufacturing section of distribution transformers immersed in dielectric liquids (OIT) and a new curing oven.

Low voltage winding refers to the stage of the OIT transformer manufacturing process in which copper windings are wound around laminated iron cores. These windings are designed to operate at low electrical voltages, generally in the range of up to 1 kV.

This work has been co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) with the aim of promoting technological development, innovation and quality research. The project had a budget of €637,800 and was carried out at the IMEFY plant between 11/04/2022 and 31/05/2023.

In this way, and thanks to the support provided, IMEFY is launching this new R&D&I project, thus reinforcing its commitment to the most relevant aspects of its Business Policy: research, development and innovation.

A sustainable energy transformation

The launch of this project reinforces IMEFY’s leadership and commitment to sustainability and business transformation towards a circular economy, providing innovative technologies, the use of sustainable materials and the production of durable equipment, as well as compliance with environmental regulations.

An innovative project that will boost transformer manufacturing and directly benefit its end customers.
