IMEFY has obtained the Reduzco seal for 2024 after completing the official registration of its carbon footprint with the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO), thus consolidating its commitment to reducing emissions and continuously improving its environmental performance.
This recognition is part of the Spanish Government’s Carbon Footprint, Offsetting and CO₂ Absorption Projects Register, an initiative that distinguishes organisations that not only calculate their emissions but also demonstrate an effective reduction in them.
Obtaining the Reduzco seal certifies that IMEFY has managed to reduce the intensity of its emissions by 6.43% in the three-year period 2022-2024 compared to the period 2021-2023, considering scopes 1, 2 and 3.
MITECO Carbon Footprint Registry: from calculation to emissions reduction
In the Carbon Footprint Registry of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, organisations initially obtain the Calculation seal after registering their emissions.
In the case of IMEFY, obtaining the Calculate and Reduce seal represents an additional step, as it certifies not only the calculation of the carbon footprint, but also an effective reduction in emissions compared to the reference period, thus consolidating a progressive improvement in its environmental performance.
Official recognition of actual emissions reduction
The seal obtained by IMEFY certifies the calculation of its carbon footprint and the effective reduction of emissions associated with its industrial activity, including both direct emissions and those derived from energy consumption and other relevant indirect sources.
Specifically, scope 3 incorporates emissions from the transport and distribution of goods, employee commuting and waste management, reflecting a comprehensive view of the organisation’s environmental impact.
This recognition applies to the manufacture of electrical transformers at its headquarters in Los Yébenes (Toledo), the production centre where the company concentrates its industrial activity.
Strategic commitment to industrial sustainability
Obtaining the Reduzco seal not only means complying with administrative requirements, but also demonstrates the integration of environmental criteria into the company’s operational management.
Carbon footprint registration and verified emissions reduction are part of a broader strategy aimed at improving energy efficiency, optimising production processes and reducing the environmental impact associated with industrial activity.
Certifications of this type reinforce IMEFY’s position as a company committed to sustainability, energy transition and environmental responsibility within the industrial sector.
Active participation in national climate objectives.
The MITECO Carbon Footprint Registry is one of the main instruments promoted by the Administration to encourage the reduction of emissions in the Spanish business sector.
IMEFY’s participation in this registry and the award of the Reduzco seal reflect its active contribution to national decarbonisation targets and the transition to more sustainable production models.
Continuous improvement and environmental transparency
The registration certificate, issued by the Spanish Office for Climate Change, officially confirms IMEFY’s registration in the register for the calculation year 2024 and its recognition for emissions reduction.
This recognition reinforces the company’s environmental transparency and its commitment to measuring, controlling and continuously improving its climate impact.
Sustainability integrated into the business model
By obtaining the Reduzco seal, IMEFY consolidates its commitment to a responsible industrial model, aligned with current environmental standards and aimed at the continuous improvement of energy and climate performance.
The company thus reaffirms its commitment to sustainability as a strategic axis of its activity and as a key element in the development of responsible industrial solutions.
