IMEFY continues to move forward in its commitment to sustainability, decarbonisation and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through its participation in Motor Verde, the reforestation project promoted by Fundación Repsol and Grupo Sylvestris. On this occasion, the initiative focuses on the restoration of the Maceira forest, located in Galicia.

This project, developed in the Galician region, not only contributes to the restoration of a high-value natural ecosystem, but also enables IMEFY to offset its carbon footprint and generate a real, positive impact on the environment, reinforcing the company’s long-term sustainability strategy.

The collaboration agreement between IMEFY and Fundación Repsol will initially run for a period of three years. During the first year, IMEFY’s contribution will help mitigate approximately 200 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent, with the aim of progressively increasing this contribution in the coming years.

Galicia at the heart of a project with triple impact

The reforestation of the Maceira forest (Galicia) generates a triple impact:

  • Environmental: restoration of the forest ecosystem, improvement of biodiversity, soil regeneration and CO₂ capture.

  • Social: creation of local employment and strengthening of the area’s social fabric.

  • Economic: promotion of sustainable activities that help boost the rural economy of Galicia.

As part of this partnership, IMEFY will also carry out awareness-raising and communication initiatives to promote the Motor Verde project among its stakeholders, encouraging greater environmental awareness and active participation.
