Last 9th April, the 6th Toledo Autism Solidarity Race was held under the slogan “A happy journey through life” in which there were more than 400 runners registered. Our company was one of the official sponsors of this solidarity race.

The starting and finishing point was the Parque de la Vega. So that all those interested could participate in this solidarity initiative, there were three modalities: adult race, solidarity walk and children’s race.

What does APAT, the Toledo Association of People with Autism, do?

APAT is a non-profit organisation whose main objective is to attend to the needs of all people with autism. In addition, they guide and support all their families in the province of Toledo. This association was created in 2007 and led by “a courageous mother”, Montserrat Fernández Nevado, together with a small group of parents.

The secretary of APAT, Sagrario Domínguez, stated at the presentation of this solidarity activity that the aim is to ensure that “people with ASD can develop their lives, achieve autonomy and be happy throughout their lives, from toddlers to adults”.

At IMEFY, we are committed to sport and solidarity.

Sport is an essential tool for the socialisation of this group. In IMEFY, as in previous years, we have been sponsors of the VI Solidarity Race for Autism in Toledo, which aims to make this disorder visible and, at the same time, to raise funds for the projects developed by the entity to improve the quality of life of people with ASD. In this way, apart from showing our commitment with the APAT Association, we want to support all those people with autism and also their families.
