With a capacity of 100 MWh, the Deux-Acren storage plant is the largest in the European electricity grid. CORSICA SOLE built this plant in 6 months, which consists entirely of lithium-ion batteries and provides frequency regulation in the Belgian electricity grid. With this project, CORSICA SOLE changes scale and becomes one of the European leaders in the sector.

Energy storage: the cornerstone of the European Union’s energy independence
In the context of the energy crisis, energy storage is now a cornerstone of the European Union’s energy independence. In this way, the EU can control its energy production and thus its costs. In addition to being economical, storage plants can be built in less than a year and can respond quickly to the energy crisis. The multiplication of this type of project is therefore a strategic challenge to ensure Europe’s energy sovereignty.
The Deux Acren power plant has therefore relied on the use of transformers immersed in dielectric liquids, manufactured by IMEFY at its factory in Los Yébenes (Toledo). A total of 20 transformers with a power of up to 2500 kVA have been supplied by IMEFY, all of them meeting the highest quality standards required by the end customer.
