In 1973 IMEFY was born under the business and entrepreneurial spirit of its founders Luis Fontecha Pedraza and Ramón Fontecha Pedraza. A time of changes in the national business panorama that did not prevent Luis and Ramon from putting all their enthusiasm into what is now a reality. The beginnings were hard but exciting when IMEFY started out as a manufacturer of distribution transformers immersed in dielectric liquids and, later, encapsulated in epoxy resin. This allowed IMEFY to establish itself in the market from 1982 onwards.
Throughout our long history, at IMEFY we have managed to expand our production, becoming a national and international benchmark as manufacturers of electrical transformers on all five continents. This has enabled us to have more than 300 customers all over the world. During these 50 years, nearly 200,000 transformers have been born in IMEFY and are operational in more than 80 countries.
During these 50 years of experience, we have managed to form a great, professional and highly qualified team which, together with high technology, has enabled us to obtain more than twenty national and international awards and prizes, including the Gold Star Award for Professional Excellence, awarded in 2017, and the SME of the Year Award in Toledo in 2019, among others.
In addition, at IMEFY we have carried out a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, collaborating with different NGOs and foundations that has allowed us to acquire a solid commitment and guarantee a competitive positioning by linking the company with society and its environment. Our aim with this ideal is to contribute to the achievement of the different objectives for sustainable development, contributing our experience and professionalism, backed by the latest technological advances in the field of industrial electricity.
50 years full of energy
2023 will be a very different year for IMEFY. Under a personal commitment to ensure that these 50 years of history do not go unnoticed, we at IMEFY have organised a programme of activities during the month of May.
With this celebration, born as a tribute to the history of the company, to our founders and, above all, to all those who are the most important assets of the company: workers, national and export customers, in IMEFY we intend to renew the commitment acquired even before our foundation: to become a reference company in the sector, valued by its customers and with a performance oriented to quality and continuous improvement of the products offered.
